Chuck is the head of our family - or at least that's what Abby and I let him believe! We met in 2004 and after a 2 week courtship, were engaged and married in September 2005, so I guess right from the start we've always been an adventurous family!
Chuck grew up just an hour from Raleigh in Virginia and joined the Navy right out of high school. After 22 years, he retired from the Navy in 2007 and we thought we were settled in Raleigh, NC where we lived for 8 years. In May 2012, a company approached Chuck with an opportunity. Just a few short months later, he was off the Yanbu, Saudi Arabia and so began this journey. I guess you could say this is the man behind the adventure!

Well, this is me, Angie. I grew up in a very small town in Pennsylvania, population 150. Went to college at Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA and the day after graduation moved to Asheville, North Carolina - just because. I lived in Asheville for a year before becoming an expat in Tampere, Finland for 2 years. About 6 months after moving back to Asheville, I met my hubby, Chuck. Picked up and moved to Raleigh, North Carolina after just 2 months of dating.
I have three wonderful step-children ages 23, 18 and 9 - so I married into a ready-made family. Chuck and I had a son, Gavin who passed from congenital diaphragmatic hernia in July 2008. He is our angel. Our miracle, Abygail, is taking the adventure with us. I truly never imagined the path my life has taken!

Well, this is our miracle, Abygail or Abby. She keeps us hopping and is one of the biggest reasons we decided to take this adventure. Abby was born in 2010 and truly completed our family.
We made the decision to become expats because she was so young and we wanted to show her the world. She is outgoing, opinionated and keeps us on our toes! She is learning Arabic, but still keeps her country roots with a little accent and a lot of dancing and signing to country music.
She is the love of my life and keeps me going on days when the adventure gets a bit challenging!
